Honouring The Value Chain

Changing industry culture starts with a commitment to ethical and responsible practices that respect and empower the people and planet behind our products. ‘Sustainability’ functions and sustains a system purposely founded on exploitative practices and colonialism, neglecting the core participants behind the expansive web of connections that make up the value chain. With 10 years in the fashion industry and women’s rural communities, my approach looks beyond sustainability and towards regeneration.

This is founded on the principles of collaboration and co-creation, allowing space for regrowth and working in harmony with our land, local biodiversity, seasons, and the incredible humans that weave our products into existence.

Honouring the value chain reflects an understanding of the interconnectedness of environmental, social, economic, and cultural rights. The pillars listed below will help you gain an understanding of this interwovenness and how we can create a cultural shift to respect, protect, and empower all resources and people involved in the value chain.

If we don’t have women that personify fire, a community or society would be and remain ‘unbaked’ and the bread wouldn’t be ready to eat. The way women take care of a community is what makes society ‘rise’.”

Bridging worlds and weaving stories

Over the years, I have worked with individuals, small businesses, and corporates in their journey to work in harmony with nature and with respect for people. My work emphasizes the bridging of communities and cultures through continual creative partnerships based on relearning and honouring agency. It is through these pillars that we can truly re-evalutate what is perceived as success and innovate for purposeful, transformative, and beautiful co-creations.

From my speaking and personal writing to the consulting I offer, I am excited to continue sharing the richness behind collaboration and long term partnerships.
